    Ventera was awarded a 5-year contract by the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) for the Modernization of Execution, Performance, and Invoice Consolidation (EPIC). The total contract value is $92M if all options are exercised, and has an initial base year of $3.2M.  We look forward to working with S&T to design and implement the new system and processes using modern technologies, our scaled agile methodology and user centered design.

    Ventera was awarded the 3-year, $42M, Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES) task order under the CMS Agile Delivery to Execute Legislative Endeavors for Quality Related Initiatives (ADELE-QRI) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). We look forward to working with CMS to design and develop an innovative, user-centered, and streamlined user-experience-based integrated Internet-facing iQIES system that replaces the existing suite of QIES legacy systems. iQIES will be developed using modern development technologies and methodologies including Agile, UCD, Cloud, Open Source, and DevOps.

    We are excited to share that we opened a second Ventera office space this month in Columbia, Maryland! This office allows us to better support our Baltimore based team and clients. As Steve Deichman, a program manager explains, “It’s great to have dedicated office space for our Baltimore based staff. This will allow us to recruit top talent from other parts of the region and serve new client markets.” We are thrilled to be a part of the Maryland community!

    UX (user experience) and UI (user interface) are often clumped together, particularly when it comes to the job market; however, there is a distinction - the UI encompasses all visual components of a design (e.g., colors, typography), while the UX includes the non-visual aspects (e.g., number of clicks to complete an action).

    On May 13th, Ventera participated in the Tour De Cure bike ride in support of the American Diabetes Association. We joined hundreds of other riders on a chilly May morning and braved the threat of inclement weather riding 20 miles from Reston Town Center down the W&OD trail and back.  In our inaugural year participating, we had seven dedicated riders and raised our goal of $2500 thanks to the generosity of fellow employees, family, friends, and Ventera.

    The money raised for the American Diabetes Association funds critical diabetes research, information programs, and advocacy efforts that support the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, and the 86 million with pre-diabetes.  To find out more about this important cause visit

    In the summer of 2016, Ventera embarked on a journey to collect soda-pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House Charities assist families by providing low-cost living close to hospitals, allowing families to stay together during challenging health-related times without worrying about expensive living costs. The local Falls Church, VA house is located near the INOVA Children’s Hospital and is beautifully constructed and decorated.
