Ventera is pleased to announce that we co-hosted a Mortgage Credit Risk Roundtable with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Golub Center for Finance and Policy on July 18 at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Ventera SVP of Financial Solutions Sharath Sharathchandra and Executive Director of the Golub Center Ed Golding were the joint organizers. The participants included senior leaders from the mortgage market (GSEs, mortgage insurers, Wall Street), government (Fed, FHFA, FHA), and academia.
This is the third in a series of such roundtables. Ventera hosted the first two in Washington, DC, in July 2023 and January 2024. The objective of the roundtable is to develop strategies promoting sustainable home ownership and rental opportunities based on a deep understanding of mortgage credit risk by bringing together experts representing different perspectives to have an open, collaborative, and non-competitive discussion.
The topics discussed in this roundtable were:
- Current developments in the mortgage market (challenges and opportunities)
- Use of AI and alternative data in mortgage credit risk
- Affordability and access to housing
- Banks and non-banks in mortgage finance
