Blue was the color of our latest company lunch, as team members, both in-person and remote, sported the color to show support for autism acceptance. Wearing blue during the month of April has become a symbol for the Light it Up Blue campaign, a movement created by Autism Speaks to foster understanding and acceptance for those with autism.
“This was an employee-led initiative funneled through our Spirit Committee,” said Christina Pritchett, Ventera Vice President of Human Capital Management. “The group encouraged everyone to wear blue for our monthly in-office lunch and for remote employees to send in pictures in support of spreading autism awareness and promoting acceptance.”
In addition to participating in the Light It Up Blue campaign, Ventera made a contribution to the Flutie Foundation. By providing a path for education, employment, and enrichment opportunities, the Flutie Foundation supports those with autism and their families to help them live life to the fullest.
“It’s not enough to be aware of autism — we should accept, support, respect, and include autistic people.”
